Do you ever feel like you're making great progress, and then *WHAM*: You feel like you're back at square one.
We went to see the new Cowboys Stadium last night, and the 'opening event' was a concert with Leeann Womack (filling in for Julianne Hough who was sick), Blake Shelton, Reba, and George Strait. What a FABULOUS show! I did my hair, put on a cute outfit, and got ready to go. When i look at my digital camera this morning, I'm really disappointed/surprised/bleh at how the pics turned out.
144 pounds
I "feel" thinner than i look, and it really kind of hurt/shocked me to see what the camera sees. I don't know if i just magically expected to be "thin" when i hit a certain weight, or if i thought i'd see more progress after losing 30-some-odd pounds....I guess my point of view is just skewed.
Trying to look on the positive side, i can still certainly tell that i have made progress and lost weight. I can tell that my clothes are getting bigger. And I realize now, that to look the way i want to look, i still have a little ways to go from where I'm at now. Which is okay. I know this is an ongoing, lifelong process to keep my body healthy and fit. I just have to remind myself that anything that you can be proud of is worth working for.
Concert
The new Cowboys Stadium was amazing, as were all of the acts. Here are a few of my snapshots!

My one 'regret' was regarding food. Because of my knee surgery a few weeks back, walking long distances or up and down stairs is a huge challenge for me.
How do you deal with food sabotages?
Did you do anything fun over the weekend?

I remember when I was exactly where you are now and looking at pics of myself. I was disappointed too ! But trust me, it will come ! Sometimes it is the camera angle that gets you wrong, and sometimes it is the way your standing. All that matters is that you keep going....soon neough you will begin to see changes, I promise ! I've been there, I know from first hand experience !
ReplyDeleteI don't know exactly what your workout program consists of, or what limitations you have because of your knee surgury, but you may want to look into circuit training. I do circuits 3x a week and they totally changed the shape of my body. There are tons of circuit programs out there, I do turbulence Training, but Jillian Micheals has 2 books out with circuit routines in them, and the 30 day shred ,she has out also, is circuits too. They are quick and really effective and I have a friend who has limitations and she uses circuits all the time.
Also you may want to look into High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). It burns fat like mad and it is quick and short ! Saves time and is really effective.
Don't let anything get you down, I am sure that soon you will see a HUGE change !
Felt that way today.....after losing 10 pounds....Yuk
